Clara adopts an integrative approach to counseling, combining different theories of psychotherapy to individualize the therapeutic experience of each client. Clara grounds her clinical work in psychodynamic and Acceptance and Commitment Therapies, stressing the importance of openness and non-judgment, self-acceptance, and your commitment to action. She also employs mindfulness-based techniques and cognitive-behavioral strategies to help you restructure your life. Clara has a strong commitment to social justice, and seeks to fully understand the unique needs and values of each client. She believes that it is her role as a therapist to create an enriching and supportive environment so that you can cultivate your existing strengths and find the tools you need to reach your goals.
Clara received her Educational Specialist degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Loyola University Chicago. Clara also holds a degree in Violin Performance from Northwestern University and is passionate about counseling other artists and musicians in Chicago.
