Yuliya Bogdanovskaya, LPC

Through our life experiences, individuals can develop habits and patterns of thinking that make it difficult to overcome obstacles and feel like their true selves. This can create disconnection and confusion that develops unwanted thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Yuliya views therapy as a journey for individuals to reconnect with their mind and body to understand who they are, what they are feeling and thinking, and how it is impacting their functioning. It is an opportunity to explore what is true and essential for you. Therapy can be difficult to begin and journey through; Yuliya’s therapeutic approach is collaborative, empathic, and non-judgmental to provide a safe and comfortable environment for clients. She aims to develop a genuine therapeutic relationship to help clients progress through their healing.

Yuliya has experience working with adolescents and adults with a range of presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, and psychotic disorders. She focuses on helping individuals develop emotion regulation skills, distress tolerance skills, self-compassion, and positive coping mechanisms. Her work is rooted in the impact of thoughts and feelings on behaviors through the use of cognitive-behavioral and dialectical behavioral interventions. Additionally, she implements mindfulness-based techniques to help integrate the mind-body connection.

Yuliya received a Master’s of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Additionally, she is currently working on completing a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology, Chicago.
